An easy 20 minute shuttle ride outside of Roma is the Sheraton Hotel. A world apart from the tourist fueled hustle and bustle of the ancient city. A tranquil refuge to relax and recharge.

While nothing special, the rooms were modern and spacious. The staff excellent, helpful, and friendly. Rooms came with a typical amenities of robe and slippers. Shower and tub. Along with a bidet. Ours had an excellent pool view. One of the buildings was under construction, so later travelers might find an upgraded room product as Sheraton is stepping up its game.

With our Marriott status we were offered breakfast at no additional charge. It was ample and of a variety which could s satisfy any taste. Being in Italy it also came with freshly made cappuccinos. They had a coffee machine, but why use it when you can have a barista make it for you.

While we tried to sample some of the best Italian cuisine during our time in Italy, we were surprised the best pizza we found came out of the Sheraton's kitchen. Tip, try the spicy version.

The shuttle to the city was value for the money, ran at convenient times, and dropped you within walking distance of Rome's major attractions. (For reference - right across the street from the Mouth of Truth). It was also an easy walk in the opposite direction to the Tiber river, and the hip neighborhood of Trastevere.

The hotel's outskirts location also means easier access to the airport and the cruise port. There is a travel desk in the lobby which can arrange all of your ground transportation.

This is a resort, with a large pool area, and sits on a golf course. While we didn't golf this time, the course provides a great walking path to nearby shops and other restaurants off the resort. You are also close to suburban Roman neighborhoods to explore, but you will need an Uber.

Recommend as a great alternative if you don't want to stay in Rome itself, or pay the premium rate.

One of the worst experiences we've ever had at a Sheraton hotel. This particular evening, it was just me and my 2 young children. It was around 10:30pm when we arrived on the property. This hotel is divided into 3 buildings that are located far from one another, so walking between the buildings with luggage and kids in tow is not feasible. Our taxi driver knew this and kindly stopped at the 1st building so we could ask the Front Desk agent (Hassan) which building we were staying at. He looked up our reservation and said that we are staying in building 2. We got in our taxi and drove to building 2.

At building 2, there were multiple parties checking in but only 1 front desk agent. Needless to say, by the time we checked in, we had been in line for an hour. The front desk agent in building 2 was helpful but upon checking us in said that our room is in building 1. She mentioned that building 1 is 700m away and said that she could call us a shuttle. I mentioned to her that we had just come from the 1st building and the agent there had sent us to building 2. I was extremely frustrated that we were being bounced around from one building to the next.

As we arrived back at building 1, a van of flight attendants and pilots were being dropped off. Anticipating another long wait, I hopped out of our shuttle and ran to the front desk. Hassan who wasn't working with anyone at the time said that he would be with me in a few minutes after checking in the group of flight attendants and pilots. We waited again! By the time Hassan finished checking in the flight crew, we had been on property for over 2 hours waiting to check into our room. When I mentioned to Hassan that he sent us to building 2 by mistake, he didn't apologize but made a lame excuse that at the time our room wasn't ready. Well then why didn't you just say that in the first place instead of us wasting our time going to building 2?

By the time that we got into our room in building 1, it was past midnight. Our room was not ready. I requested a rollaway bed, but it was not in place. I called down to the front desk, but no one answered. I had to go back down to the front desk and talk with the front desk agent again! There was a bit confusion and it seemed that he didn't know who he needed to call to request the rollaway bed.

Back to our room, the rollaway bed arrives. The bed is a bit bulky and the hotel staff struggled getting the bed into the room, dragging the corner of the sheets/mattress on the dirty ground.

After he left, we received a call from the front desk (it was close to 1am at this time). She apologized and said that her colleague that had set up the bed had accidentally dropped his box of cigarettes. Frustratingly, I offered to place the box of cigarettes in the hallway.

There's more! The shower floor had mold and the water was lukewarm. The End!

This Sheraton hotel is a joke. I would not recommend staying at this property ever again.

I stayed in this Sheraton and it's the absolute worst hotel in all of Italy.
The staff is very rude the food is terrible. I happen to stay on September 12 2022 and had planned on staying again on October 5th 2022.
However, after my first night at the hotel I wanted nothing more to do with this Shearton, I asked to cancel my October 5th stay and was told that I couldn't and that they had already put the charge on my credit card like 25 days in advance. I was given a email address for refund and it was Bogus like the rest of the hotel. Please believe me and countless others who are being 100% honest about what they are saying about this particular Sheraton..

Sheraton is very close to airport. It only 15 minutes away. We spent a night here before we left Italy to Budapest. The hotel is quite. We have two twin room. Somehow the Italian hotel doesn't provide full size bed for double bed. Twin is kind of small in compare to full size. I am use to American standards.

The hotel is clean. Nothing fancy about it. I was wondering why and American brand hotel look like Italian standard. The thing I like is the morning breakfast. It has good selection. It has cool veggies, bacon, ham, scrambled egg and more. They don't open their breakfast until 6:30 am. Our flight is at 9 am and able to have breakfast before we take off to the airport.

The lobby is big. Just that the lobby restroom is at a distance to reach.

This hotel is 100% out of the city and off the beaten path so expect to travel back and forth if you are wanting to go into Rome. The do have a shuttle that runs $3 USD per person but we always were only charged for one person when we had four in our group. And this still beats a taxi charge by far. And you know you are safe and not being ripped off. We got in one taxi and he drove 20MPH the entire trip almost making us miss our train so I would go with the hotel.

The hotel is old and needs updated but it is clean and quiet. There is no luxury items in the rooms but you have what you need. The showers do leak out onto the floor and they are aware. Simply use your towel to wipe it up in the morning because they will replace them during the daily cleaning. The large bathtub was nice for our toddler and there is a line above to hang wet clothes or towels if needed. That was very nice.

The huge bonus of this hotel is the restaurant food. We were so tired from travel our first night so we stayed in and we loved it so much we ate there again the following night. It was hands down the best food our entire trip in regards to pasta. If you don't see something on the menu that speaks to you just let them know and they will make something up for you. Our daughter is so picky and they gladly came up with something new for her each night and honestly her meals were even better than ours. I think the chef liked having fun with it. Our toddler loves bread and they brought her out so many different breads and even remembered the next night what her favorites were. They also rewarded her with the biggest bowl of free chocolate gelato our first night. The breakfast was nice. We each had a plate of food so instead of charging us the full price they charged us for a continental.

I truly do not understand the bad reviews. We have stayed in many Marriotts and are Platinum level. There were no extras for us but we didn't really expect that here because we were in another country. The hotel is older and needs some updating but you are in Rome, the city is old. It was clean and everyone was incredibly friendly.

Side note, due to fire code they have no iron in the room or coffee maker. They have a laundry room that you can iron your clothing in for free so we just ironed everything the first night. Room service brings you a free cup of coffee every morning to make up for no pot.

The beautiful golf course grounds around the Sheraton hotel belong to the Parco de' Medici Golf Club. This golf complex was build in 1990, and consists of the 27-hole golf course with a welcoming Club House, and the Golf Club building, situated further along the Viale Salvatore Rebecchini towards Tiber river.

My business trips bring me to the countryside of Aurelia very often. When I stay at Sheraton hotel and resort for extended periods of time, I often take morning walks or quick runs around the entire golf course, instead of working out in the indoors gym.

Golf course grounds are very quant and peaceful at five o'clock in the morning. It's outrageously gorgeous, not a human sole in sight, only deer, jackrabbits, and coypu running around.

Yes, coypu, I finally figured out what these rats are! They are river rats, or nutria - the semiaquatic rodent that lives in freshwater marshes, and is valued for its fur. They eat the stems of water vegetation and look similar to beavers.

I truly enjoy the picturesque views and serene hilly sights around the golf course.

Castle of the Popes, or Castello dei Papi in Italian, was built during the second half of the 15th century under Popes Sixtus IV and Innocent VIII.

During the Renaissance era, this was the country home of several popes, one of them in particular is of interest to us: Pope Leo X, aka Giovanni de' Medici, son of Lorenzo the Magnificent.

Hence the name for the entire area, derived from Leo X, Parco de' Medici.

There is a painting of Pope Leo X at the Galleria Pitti in Florence, by Raphael.

If you were looking for motel 6 in Rome, this Hotel would suffice.

The people of Rome are Beautiful Friendly and caring.

These are the points that needs to get improved with this place:

1- stop charging your clients for a shuttle bus rides. The bus schedule is unworkable for the tourism of your city.

2- Train and staff your servers so they don't run around like their head cutoffs.

3- provide Iron at the room.

4- Stop overcharging for mediocre Breakfast, 18 Euro is too much.

5- your beds are like Rock.

Me and my wife, came out of this place with back aches due to their beds, my wife burned her hand by hot water badly served at the bar.

Finally had a better than expected hotel room.
Part of three properties, we got the one that was located farthest from the roadway, which was nice.
We happened to be booked the same weekend that a whole force of Italian carabinieri and politi were in town to celebrate Republic day (June 2). I had never felt safer in my life.
** Bit of history: Republic Day, also known as Festa della Repubblica in Italian (Festival of the Republic), is a national holiday in Italy on June 2 each year. It celebrates the day when Italians voted to abolish the monarchy in 1946 so their country could become a republic.**
Only one person at the front desk to check-in guests (there were at least two tour buses arriving together - about 95 people all at once).
There was no bellhop, so we all ended taking our own luggage to our rooms (might be par for the tour but certainly not for the hotel itself).
Room was spacious, overlooking the pool area.
Barely Working A/C (I think I will book my next Italian getaway NOT in MAY or June) made overnight rest quite uncomfortable. This place at elast sent up a maintencnae person. We ended up sleeping with teh balcony doors open.
Just to make things clear, I paid for a tour expecting a lot more pampering and luxury accommodations but that did not happen at all stops. So the fact that this was booked more toward the end of the tour made me wonder why other properties were not up to snuff.
(It's not the fault of the hotel but rather of the tour operator: Trafalgar gladly takes your money then leaves you on your own).

Nice and very comfortable beds and pillows!
      View overlooking pool
