First time I've been to this bar was to have a few before going wild on NYE. I have to say I really like this bar. It's a cool venue playing rock and roll music. And was free to go in! The margaritas were awesome and one big bonus about this place.... NO MEASURES!!! Nothing pisses me off more than paying 7 pounds for a drink and the cheap bastards measure. come on... let it go over for god sakes! he he
But nice bar, i shall return!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Olivia E.London, Storbritannia29822912. sep. 2012
I've only been here twice and thats because a friend of ours invited us to see his band playing live- biggest mistakes of our lives!!!!!
The band was/is horrible and they just butchered my ears and favourite songs...oh, the sads.
Anyway! The bar is nice...not something out of the ordinary. Both times I've been there it was incredibly packed, stuffy, noisy etc. So I haven't experienced the atmosphere on a school night, for example. Or in general, the atmosphere when there are no gigs in the place.
Funny enough, the guy from the bar is an old friend from my Transylvania and it was funny to see him there.
He tells me that normally the place is comfy, stylish and intimate...laid-back.
Jazz gigs on Wednesday..and Thursdays (I think) + a 2 course meal for a tenner.
But don't take my word for it cuz it might have changed...best to ask first.
They consider themselves a classy and wallet-friendly place compared to the hustle and bustle of Camden Town.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Leon C.Wellington, New Zealand687100370015. jan. 2010Første anmelder
There was something nice and upbeat about this place. The soft red painted walls, comfortable and 'downtown' classy furnishings, made the place appear posher than it was. Service came with a smile and a respectable menu. The food is European fusion and fairly priced. You can dine at Solo for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the prices incrementally increase depending on which sitting you are at. A steak for dinner will cost you £9 without the sides. Apart from a lamb dish for £11.50, this is as expensive as it gets. The quality of the food is nothing to scream about. It is very well presented, the portions are safe, and I would bracket Solo's food quality at a respectable gastro pub level
On this particular Friday night the RnB/Hip Hop sounds from the club downstairs were being wired into the restaurant, giving the place a cool bar feel. If you don't want to eat you can just come in, lounge on the sofa's and drink the £6 cocktails which are surprisingly good.
Solo's is not a destination place for me, but if you want to escape the crowds be it morning, noon or night, this is an upscale vibe eatery without the upscale price.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Louise H.Storbritannia010620. feb. 2012
The two for one cocktails are a great Friday night treat...the live bands can be a bit hit and miss though! Great value for money if you are after a mojito or two!

Perfect place for post work drinks with a couple of friends. Free live music was a bonus. Had fish and chips which was nice enough but 2 for 1 happy hour cocktails are the hook.
